Berjumpa Dr Adilah untuk pertama kali

Tak tahulah penceritaan kat sini sesuai ke tak, since all this while, aku memang story pasal travel je, but well, this is my blog, so, i think i can update my personal life as well. Who knows, this story might be useful for someone else.

Azam tahun baru ada 1 je. Nak jumpa O&G specialist balik. Bulan 12 lepas, our marriage has turned 8 yr old. And, until todate, we have yet been given any child of our own. Since i stop my treatment in Kuching, Sarawak last 2014/2015, we never meet any specialist nor do any treatment. Hence, this year, i decided to be more serious on my trying-to-conceive (TTC) journey.

Aku dah listed out few hospital yang buat IVF. Why i want to proceed to IVF? Sebab last treatment  aku failed stage IUI. So, IVF is the last option for us. In terms of money wise, i don't bloody hell care. Konsep nak redah dulu. So, hasil my not-so-detailed study, aku chose nak ke Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur dulu untuk first treatment. I know ramai ke Metro IVF tapi tak apalah, since I heard success rate in Pantai Hospital KL is quite high as well, why not i go there first.

Konsep macam pergi jumpa doktor, tengok doktor consult apa, tengok package, if affordable (not really but more to konsep boleh cari duit), proceed jelah.

Tapi lists of hospital that i want to proceed and consider to do IVF are:

1. Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (PHKL), Bangsar

2. University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center (UKMMC)

3. Kuala Lumpur Fertility Center

4. Metro IVF

Why i chose PHKL is because Dr Adilah. Siapa Dr Adilah. Aku pun tak tahu but i heard she is quite famous for infertility and IVF procedure. Dia punya famous sampai selalu keluar majalah jugak.

Bagaimana hendak berjumpa dengan Dr Adilah?

Awal bulan hari tu, aku dah tengok website Pantai Hospital. After scrolling their web, finally ada butang klik for appointment. Of course there are many specialist in O&G department, so, kita kena click which doctor that we want to meet. Aku klik lah, Dr Adilah, choose the date and waiting for Pantai Hospital feedback. But after more than a week, aku tak terima any feedback. Aku macam suspicious then I made a call to Dr Adilah personal nurse. (dapat dari blog Dr Adilah)

Best time to visit Dr Adilah of course on your 2nd day or on Day14 of menses (this one is for regular period only). Untuk book Day2 agak susah sebab tak boleh predict bila kita period, so aku book on my Day14 menses tapi tak dapat feedback. Bila aku call nurse Dr Adilah, boleh terus book appointment dengan dia sebenarnya. Sebab nurse tu cakap sometimes memang hospital tak send the info. Bila nak book, tarikh aku nak tu tak dapat sebab dah fully booked. Nurse pulak cakap schedule Dr Adilah only available end of January and she said tak apa untuk meet for the first time at any date walaupun bukan Day2 or Day14 of menses.

So my appointment with Dr was set to 30 January 2019. Aku kena apply leave for the date since my office is very distance with the hospital. Walaupun jauh, aku gigih jugak nak ke PHKL kan. Ntah pape je rasa and of course I told hubby to be available on that date as well.

Sekali, bila tiba harinya, hubby terpaksa outstation to Melaka lah but aku insist untuk dia balik jugak before jumpa Doktor. I don't want to meet Dr by myself and I dont want Dr to assume husband tak bagi cooperation for the treatment. Sebab masa kat Kuching, Dr memang tak suka kalau wife sorang je datang.

First bila datang, kena pergi ke Blok A. Aku pun tak tahu PHKL ada berapa blok, but pergi je terus ke blok A. Cari information counter if needed. Sampai blok A, cari lif ke tingkat 4. Dah sampai tu, belok kanan untuk buat registration for the first time.

Hubby did the registration, kena isi patient form tapi patient name is wife. Katanya tak pernah nama patient is husband tapi of course dekat form kena tulis spouse details.

Dah register, dapat nombor. A432 is Dr Adilah's room and 05 is my turn. Bawa nombor ke bilik doktor. Jumpa nurse, sekali dia cakap doktor is in OT. Nurse cakap boleh pergi makan dulu. Pastu aku tanya, bila doktor available. Dia cakap 45 minit ke 1 jam. Pastu aku tanya, saya datang balik selepas sejam atau nurse akan call saya untuk inform doktor dah available? Pastu dia jawab, 'Datang balik lah, kita panggil nombor ada kat kertas tu' dengan nada sedikit marah/berang/menyampah. 

This is my first time okay to meet her, and of course I dont know the procedure and of course aku tanya banyak. Salah ke tanya banyak? Dalam hati automatik feel 'kereknya nurse ni' tapi aku cepat-cepat jelah tepis. Malas nak besarkan cuma dalam hati 'I pay what. Bukan free.' 'Doesn't she know that it is my first timer to be there?' Ok skip that!

So have to wait another 45 minutes. Maka, kami turun balik ke GFloor untuk makan. Hubby tak makan since dari Melaka lepas subuh. Ada banyak cafe and kedai kat PHKL. Dari Starbucks, ke Subway, ke MBG store, ke food court yang ada macam-macam choices.

Dah settle makan, kami ke tingkat 4 semula tunggu depan bilik doktor. Selepas sejam lebih jugak tunggu barulah dapat jumpa doktor.

Bila masuk, aku terus bagi my referral letter which I got from my last treatment/my last hospital yang aku pergi kat Kuching which is year 2015. I explained to her, I know this result is invalid, bla-bla bla but this is the procedure that I had gone through before. She looked into the letter and lab test. But again, she will interview both of us for her record.

Then she did Trans-Viginal-Scan (TVS). Hubby can see the TVS sebab sebelum ni kat Kuching, hubby never see the procedure.

Doktor explained very well. From her explanation, it can be concluded that

1. I have Polysystic Ovarian (PCO) not Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Ovari ada banyak follicles yang menggangu period kita. Tapi aku tak ada syndrome sebab tak hairy, tak overweight, etc.

2. My rahim dalam kedudukan yang betul, ke hadapan. Alhamdulillah.

3.  I have ovulated, boleh ovulate, tak ada endometriosis. Alhamdulillah lagi sekali.

Doktor recommendation and point of view:

1. I can get pregnant. No big issue. But i told her, but why i can't conceive until today. (jawapan dah tahu, perancangan Allah).

2. she didn't recommended for IVF sebab my case tak heavy. cureable kot. Not big issue sebab IVF here cost about RM20-RM25K. Ok, this part sebelum datang hospital, aku dah told hubby, we must have our limit. If it cost more than RM20K, we might not proceed.  Tapi aku tak adalah bagitahu doktor, saya tak nak buat sebab mahal. (ok matilah kalau doktor baca blog ni)

3. Doktor recommend for IUI sebab cost of IUI is RM2K only. Acceptable kot.

4. Doktor suruh start consume Multivitamins yang tak ada Vit A (sebab excessive of Vit A can harm the baby) and folic acid. - ini beli kat farmasi.

Hence, next month, i will be seeing her again, tapi on Day 3 menses kena datang hospital untuk ambil darah dan lab test. Doktor bagi clomid 50mg to be taken from Day 5 to Day 10 of mensus. and Day 10 kena jumpa doktor untuk tengok progress.

Bayaran?

Ok, part ni seram. My sister pernah jumpa Dr Adilah sekali and my sister told me the price is RM500 above sebab hari tu dia dapat injection. So, dia cakap prepare RM300 above untuk sekali jumpa. Dah ready financially, kami lepas jumpa doktor, jumpa nurse untuk dapat card appointment, then nurse passed the bill. Sekali lagi, kami kena ke kaunter registration & payment. Pass the envelope, and dapat nombor baru. Tunggu turn. Sampai turn kami, staf tunjuk invoice. Total kena bayar RM552.00.

Bayar jelah. Untuk kes treatment, memang tak ada insurans yang cover ye. Self-paid.

Sometimes it is hard to explain for those yang not in our shoes. Easier read than done kan.

InsyaAllah cuba update journey ni sebab 4 years ago buat treatment tak record apa-apa. This time nak taip untuk kenangan anak yang akan datang.
